Boscher Theodor

‘Flowers’ 2016. 40 cm disc.

Boscher Theodor grew up in Cologne, the booming art capital of the 1980s, where he was strongly influenced by punk and bad painting. The first work to bring him public attention was a short movie, W.S.Borroughs – Gorillas on fire, in collaboration with Walter Dahn. This early debut was followed by further 16mm films with Walter Dahn and Imi Knoebel offering the young artist a stimulating introduction to the art practice. Later on, through his philosophy studies and influenced by these early experiences with film, he developed a transdiciplinary approach, merging in his works the vocabulary of both film and painting.
