Boscher Theodor has been making art since 1989 with the first work that brought him public attention consisting of a short movie in collaboration with Walter Dahn, which bears the title ‘W.S. Borroughs – Gorillas on fire’. This debut was followed by further 16 mm films, which presented collective works with Walter Dahn, Imi Knoebel and Johannes Stüttgen.
Boscher Theodor studied philosophy, an exercise in which he, in his own words, acquired “structural thought” as well as a certain inner autonomy. He was also trained as a cameraman. Theodor’s early contact with Walter Dahn, seemingly had a formative impact as well as Beuys, who has had an indirect influence.
